NetworkConfig Help


The network-configuration is used for selecting the network adapter and assigning ip-address, gateway and subnetmask.
Normally, this happens automatically within Windows but the user can alter these settings.
How far these settings match the Windows-setting, is indicated by the lamp (12). The textboxes save every legal address ever typed in. You can choose them later through the dropdown-menu.

With this checkbox, you can choose to see the virtual adapters addiationally to the physical adapters.

The maximum-speed of the adapter.

1 In the adapter-field, you can choose the network adapter. After you selected an adapter, it's ip-address, gateway and subnet will be took over.

Show the standard supported by the adapter.

The physical(MAC-) address of the adapter.

13 The "OK"-button confirms and saves the settings.

14 The "Cancel"-button discards all settings since the last saving.

This textbox contains the ip-address of the gateway.

Here you can find the subnetmask, over which the gateway will be contacted.

The physical (MAC-)address of the gateway. You can request it by clicking 11.

With a click on this button you can request the gateway MAC-address.

This lamp indicates the status of the chosen adapter. It shows, how far the actual settings agree with the Windows-settings. Following conditions are possible :
Grau
If the lamp is grey, no informations about the actual adapter could be found. Please contact technical support.
Orange
If it is orange, the actual choosen adapter has no bindings to the TCP/IP stack. This can be happen, if the adapter is used in a homogenous NetBEUI environment.
Grün
A green lamp indicates a binding to the TCP/IP stack and that all settings agree with the Windows-settings for this adapter.
Rot
The lamp becomes red, if the adapter has bindings to TCP/IP, but at least one setting doesn't agree with the Windows-setting for this adapter.

The button "Restore" loads the settings assigned by Windows to this adapter. All changes made will be discarded.
